Story Workshops
in STEAMM
Our Story Workshops feature lead storytellers with an established career in STEAMM and also guide you to illuminate your own ongoing story.
Our collective narrative is powerful in shaping our lived reality. Sociology, history, philosophy, and politics of science are themselves narratives that paint the story of what science is, how it got to be that way, and how it develops.
It is important to note that there is also a narrative within science/STEAMM (Steam, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, Medicine) and this narrative contains quite a few unspoken tenets. Left unspoken, these tenets drive STEAMM forward without each individual being fully empowered to contribute to steering the direction we are. Perhaps the most impactful of these unspoken tenets is the idea that science is value-free and c going ompletelyived designed to increase STEAMM practitioners’ capacity to do their best work for humanity and develop fully into their own potential.
Still in its beginning stages, our first offering for this initiative was a Story Workshop that took place at our Retrospective and Prospective Event on June 10th, 2023.
Please make sure that you are on our general invite list to receive updates about this initiative as we continue to develop it as well as invitations to upcoming workshops.
“Science is supposedly about asking questions, except about scientists and how science is done.
